The NCOE Jr. High Volleyball teams welcomed Galatia to Price Gym on February 4.
The 8th grade spent little time in jumping ahead in the first set to win 25-9. In the second set they led throughout and held off a late surge by the Bearcats to win 25-16.
“Our hitting consistency and serving still need work.” Coach Jaclyn Melton said. Bree Vollman and Morgan Bryant led the scoring as first and second servers with 16 and 10 earned points. Jerra Barton had four, Hollan Everett 3 and Brynn Warren one.
Everett led the attack with 6 kills and Bryant, Barton, Vollman and Rianna Hickey had one each. Vollman also led the setting with 5 assists. Barton had 2 and Bryant one.
Defensively, Vollman, Everett and Warren had one dig each and Everett had one block.
The win gave the Cards a 3-0 record. The JV also moved to 3-0 as they won 25-4, 25-4.
“Galatia only had one earned point,” Coach Cathy Black said.
Hinsley Everett led the scoring with 16 points (a 12-point run in the first set). Elise Hortin and Avery Black had 11 points each and Lauren Poole 4.
There was very little offense needed as Everett and Mercedes Hise each had a kill and Black and Poole had 1 assist apiece.
The win brought the 7th grade to a 3-0 record.
The C team also scored a win with a 51-22 timed win. Karly Bishop led the scoring with 7 points and Brianna Raney added 6. Brooklyn Raymer and Alexis Rush finished with 5 and Reagan Goebel and Olivia Howard had 3 apiece. Two points each were scored by Alivia Zenner and Briley Poole. Mattie McArthy and Aaliya Robinson had one each.
Rush had one set.
