The Carmi-White County Bulldog football team evened their record out at 3-3 when they hosted the Johnston City Indians to reach the .500 plateau.
Scoring was not an issue in the first quarter until deep in the quarter when Colton Yates broke free with 3:25 remaining to reach the end zone and give the Bulldogs the first score of the game along with the lead at 6-0.
Second quarter action was much more active as the Bulldogs racked up 22 points. The first of these coming off of a 48-yard run by Bryce Northcott followed up by the 2-point conversion by a Yates run. Colton Yates would then put eight more points on the board for C-WC when he scampered nine yards to cross the plain and follow it up with a 2-point conversion to stretch the Bulldog lead to 22-0. At this time, the Indians decided it was time to get into the scoring action themselves as they managed to score on a 1-yard run and add the point after to narrow the lead to 22-7. As time was winding down, Yates would manage to find his way back to the end zone with :34 seconds remaining to push the Bulldog lead back out to 28-7 at the halftime break.
Following intermission, the Bulldogs picked back up where they left off as Yates would score for the fourth time of the night on a 4-yard run. The 2-point conversion was successful when Wyatt Weinbrecht crossed the line to push C-WC ahead 36-7. The Bulldogs would witness the fifth touchdown of the night by Yates early in the fourth quarter along with the 2-point conversion to put the game out of reach 44-7. Although the Indians would collect seven points with just 1:18 remaining the Bulldogs would rest easy and enjoy the 44-14 victory on Homecoming Night.
