The Carmi-White County Football team bounced back nicely after dropping their first game of the season just one week prior when they traveled to Christopher to take on the Christopher-Ziegler-Royalton Bearcats in their second game of the season.
First quarter action would find Colton Yates marching into the end zone at the 9:16 mark to give the Bulldogs the early 6-0 lead. Wyatt Weinbrecht would follow this up with a run to secure the two-point conversion to push the the lead to 8-0. Yates would then take the short 7-yard scamper into the end zone yet again at the 4:07 mark and would take the 2-point conversion run on his own as well to extend the C-WC lead to 16-0 at the quarter’s end.
The Bulldogs would continue to feed the hot hand in the second quarter and Colton Yates would prove he was worthy for he would score his third touchdown of the game followed by an Ethan Mahon run to stretch the Bulldog lead to 24-0. With a sound lead, the Bulldogs felt confident taking their game to the air and at the 5:46 mark William Pugsley would connect with Bryce Northcott for the 25-yard reception followed by a Wyatt Weinbrecht 2-point conversion run to push the lead to 32-0. C-WC was still not finished for Pugsley would goon to find Justin Lamp for the 30-yard catch and another Bulldog touchdown followed by another Weinbrecht run to leave C-WC smashing their opponent, 40-0, as the halftime buzzer sounded.
Second half action did not follow up with all of the action that the first half possessed for neither team was able to put a single point on the board. This drought did not hurt the Bulldogs, however, for they marched on to secure the 40-0 victory and move to 1-1 on the season.
