The Book Report – June 24

June 24, 2026 by Jodi Travelstead and Nicole Inboden

By Maleah Duvall and Jody Travelstead

We had a great time at Summer Reading on Thursday, June 18th. Milly Pate read the story “How to Catch a Unicorn” by Adam Wallace. We were joined by US Army Corp of Engineers Natural Resource Specialists Olivia Barclay and Breanna Trovillion and Bobber the Water Safety Dog. Breanna read the book “Bobber Goes to the Beach” and gave the kids water safety tips. The kids then went outside with Bobber and Breanna and had races to see how fast they could put on life jackets and practiced different strategies to help save people in the water.

We would like to send a special "Thank You" to the Army Corps of Engineers for showing the children how to stay safe around water this summer and for donating a copy of “Bobber Goes to the Beach” to the library so we can share it with our patrons. Congratulations to our weekly prize winners: Chloe Bogard, Oakley Harper, Liam Johnson, Sophie Johnson, Knox Krikie, Jaxon McQuire, Lucas Pepper, Molly Pepper, Riley Pepper, Graham Tharp, Nora Wellen, Emily York, Noel York, and Nora York.  The lucky golden ticket winners who won a scoop of Bliss Artisan Ice Cream or a small drink from this week’s sponsor, Cornerstone Coffee House, are Nora York, Graham Tharp, and Knox Krikie.

We hope to see you at our last program Thursday, June 25th at 1 p.m.! Don’t miss this one! We are going to have a story walk outside, have a pizza party, and the top reader prizes, grand prize, and golden ticket grand prize will be awarded.

Like to Draw? Looking for a fun program for the whole family? Learn how to draw with Jaleigh Sullivan Monday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. for the first of  her free Pencil Parties. This free art class is for all ages.  [Read more...]
