Judge Thomas Dunn held a status conference with lawyers by phone in the case of People of the State of Illinois vs. TrueFlo Solutions, LLC on February 22, 2019, at which time the Attorney General’s office declared that the company is now in compliance with the requirements of the interim order entered on September 15, 2017. “The defendant has completed all required sampling and the results were satisfactory to Illinois EPA. The clean-up of the release that prompted our complaint has been completed, and we will now seek a civil penalty for the violations.”
Another conference call is set for May 24, 2019.
The saltwater disposal company, located on Hwy. 1 below Brownsville, Ill. was found by the Illinois EPA and Attorney General’s office to be the source of a large spill of oil and brine into the adjacent creek in August of 2017. The clean up efforts have been ongoing.
