Area Farmers Revive Tradition, Bring Their Tractors to Town

August 4, 2022 by Kathy Sands

Whereas in olden days it was normal for farmers to drive their tractors to town, it's a novel event in our times.  For the second year in a row, the Ellison brothers, Donnie and Gene, have organized a tractor drive to Norris City, reviving the tradition. Tractor drivers come from as far away as Ridgway, Harrisburg, Junction, Broughton, Mt. Vernon, Ind. and Omaha, This year the group started at Plainview Church and wound their way through the back roads to eventually make their way to Norris City, stopping for lunch at The Cardinal restaurant before heading north to the Enfield area and then driving back to their starting point.
