The 76 Clovers met in Mrs. Marsh’s kindergarten classroom on February 19, 2019. The meeting was called to order at 3:26 p.m. by President Mallory Hobbs and adjourned at 4:05 p.m. Jalynn Phillips led the American Pledge and Gabby Ray led the 4-H pledge. Refreshments for the meeting were provided by Cole Roberson and Gabby and Mason Ray. There were 18 members, two leaders and seven visitors present. Roll call was taken, and January minutes were read and approved. Mattie McArthy did a piano special entitled “Spring.” Alexis Rush demonstrated how to French braid hair. Addy Sutton did a talk on the Winter Blues. The members did a Valentine’s edition of “minute to win it” for their activity and sang “Here Is My Heart.”
Old Business that was discussed: Amanda Courson, Kimberly, Marlee and Cooper Fuqua attended the February Federation meeting. Becca Brinkley attended the beef weigh in. Mason Hobbs, Macie McArthy, Cooper and Marlee Fuqua helped with the pipeline set up.
New Business: Unit 24 Cosmic Bowling on February 22; PSA’s for pork chop supper available; March 7 is the next Federation meeting at 5:00 p.m. with Expansion and Review following at 6:00 p.m. It was reported that Federation will take a trip to the Chocolate Factory and Dixon Springs on April 19. Also, if you are planning on attending the next Federation meeting, please bring an item or two for a Family Fun Night Guardian Center basket, and prepare to stay afterwards to help prepare for the Pork Chop Supper. A Hunter Safety Course will be conducted March 5, 7 and 9. The Pork Chop Supper will be held March 16 at the White County Fairgrounds from 4-7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from any 4-H member or at the Extension Office in Carmi. Money should be turned in by March 8. Amanda Courson submitted the Farm Credit Illinois Improvement Grant. There will also be a wool workshop, conducted by Ryan Scott, on March 21 at 5:00 p.m. The 18th annual 4-H day with the Cardinals will be on May 11. The deadline to order tickets is April 1. The 2019 White County 4-H Guidebooks were also distributed among members.
Rhonda Forston, Physical Therapist and co-owner of R&T therapy was our guest speaker for our health activity. She discussed and demonstrated proper alignment of the body.
Our next meeting will be held March 12, 2019.
